How Unfair is Life?!?

Yesterday I went to the Auckland String Company with mum to get my sisters violins looked at and also an old viola priced. They priced the viola at $50. what a joke!!! it was one that mums cousins found hiding away in their house. They thought it was a violin. That's not the main point.
The main point is that I had a bit of a chat with the main guy that works at the place, which means, I asked mum some questions about how the guy got his job, she told him I was interested, and then he told us some pretty interesting stuff in a quiet bored sounding voice. I felt a bit sorry for him. He trained for three years at some place in France or something, which of course cost a lot of money. He would've had to be good at playing violin as well, not just know everything about how to make a good instrument with a beautiful tone etc. He told us that his job took a lot of time and effort, didn't pay very well, and he wasn't recognised by people very much. I thought that was all surprising, apart from the taking a lot of time bit.
Lots of really clever hard-working people aren't recognised enough.

I just went to the dentist today for the first time in over a year. I've never had a filling before. I need 6 fillings and braces once my last baby tooth comes out. It's hardly even wiggly!
The dentist was scary, and it's only just now that he's said i need 6 fillings done that my teeth are hurting. The lady doing the check-up had to show me how to brush my teeth properly because apparently I haven't been brushing the back ones well enough:( How humiliating!!!
The up-side is that the government will be paying for my fillings seeing as I'm to have so many done. I suppose it won't be so bad, but I thought I was looking after my teeth well.

  1. This comes as a surprise. I always thought your teeth were pearly white whenever I came around. Ah m'dear. Teeth are a bitch.
