Homework ARGH!

Well I guess it's about time I wrote on here.
I've been doing chemistry today. Needless to say, I've been on the internet more than actually doing chemistry, but it still seems to be weighing me down. I do not like naming compounds and working out formulae. I thought I'd got my head around the formulae after Francis kindly explained how to work them out for about half an hour (during which time I burst into tears because I didn't understand it very well and I didn't even understand what part of it I wasn't understanding). I haven't cried for a while before then so it was a bit funny!

I still have 20 formulae to work out, really only because I've been procrastinating so much. I also have to make an advertisement for a slave and pretend that "trade me was available in the 1800s". I'm not sure whether the trade me bit has just been added in so that we know we're supposed to make an advertisement or if it's been added in so we set it out in the format of the website. I'd rather not bother copying the style of the website as it seems rather pointless to me.

Before I go I'd like to tell you just how awesome "Magic Man" by heart is. I think I might even sing it for my audition for the school production. I've been listening to it over and over again today. The other music I've been continueously listening to this week is my double cd of Simon and Garfunkel that I got for Christmas. I thought they were boring at first, but now I'm pretty much in love with the second disc. Some of the best songs are "babydriver", "The Boxer", "Cecilia"... and others. It was a bit sad when I went on youtube and realised that most peoples old grannies listen to Simon and Garfunkel and probably not many people my age do, but in a way it's sort of special that I'm like a granny. I don't listen to a lot of new stuff.

I am the girl anachronism!

Exercise

A month ago I was able to go steady on an exercycle for over an hour with no break. Now that I've gone to my sisters' house with mum and the young ones (haha that would annoy them) to "look after the baby" I've found that lose interest and also get sore legs after half an hour:(
It could be because last time the weather was cooler and I was txting at the same time that i was able to keep my legs moving for so long, but i still think i need to get doing more exercisy things like running around and stuff. I'd really like a game of soccer or something like that sometime too. Not so much for the exercise but just because it would be fun. Specially with big and aggresive people! but not mean and aggresive... aggresive in a nice way lol

ok I'm gonna go watch west side story or something now.

24th of Jan

Went to Orewa beach today. Mums idea. Not so fortunate that dad drove and then we got stuck in crap traffic for almost an hour. Dad starting "using theological words" which was secretly bloody halarious. When we finally got off the motorway, mum was trying to decide whether we should just turn back home so as not to get stuck in more traffic but wouldn't that have been a waste of time and petrol etc? so we went to the beach and had a great time!
We were tryin to decide whether to swim or play in the sand and I accidentally said i wanted to play the piano. Don't ask why. Then we went swimming with mum and the water was really warm and calm. Specially compared with Piha:P
We only stopped swimming when a crab bit Celie. it was all a bit dramatic and all of us laughed at her... it's hard to take her seriously sometimes:P but I apologised after and she thought it was ok.
Then we went home and i said I wanted to have a shower in the car. don't ask. again. I meant i wanted to have an apple in the car. I had an apple on the beach so all good. had crackers in the car. They were yum.
just been killing time on the comp. Isn't facebook great?!

One mans rubbish is another mans gold

I've been sorting things out in my room. I've found lots of old bits of paper with drawings and writing, tickets to football games, theme parks, aeroplanes, boat rides... other things, photos, school work, school reports etc. It's hard to know what to keep and what to throw out, so I've kept most things. I've filled 5 cardboard boxes (rather small ones) with odds and ends. All the stuff from my choir this year takes up one box. Some boxes can't even close properly because of all the stuff I've crammed in them. And now that I've filled these boxes, where the heck am i sposed to put the blimmin things???
I've only kept most of this because I'll be able to look at them when I'm older and go "oh isn't that nice" and "wow I forgot completely about that person" and that sort of stuff, but as it says in the title I've realised that one mans rubbish is in fact another mans gold. (Actually I already new that but I just thought it linked in nicely with what I've been doing) so there ya go. 2 days worth of tidying out draws results in this post. I was supposed to vacuum my room originally as it's something that I haven't done since about a month or more ago. There are clumps of dust on the floor around my room. Yeah so, instead of vacuuming like I was gonna I emptied my draws out on the floor and now I've emptied all the stuff from my cupboard on the floor.
Hopefully I'll get around to vacuuming tomorrow.
I promised my German teacher that I would practise lots of German which i still haven't done so that's something to do as well.
Oh god... I don't wanna go to schoooool!

weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Had a good day today. Went to the Parnell pools with Katy, Dylan, mum, dad, Celie, Monny. then we had a bit of a picnic near the rose gardens and then walked around the rose gardens looking at the pretty roses, sniffing at them and talking about how us young ones were too young to remember Vincent and Gemmas' wedding reception that was held there. It's true, I can only remember what I've seen in photos, and also the bit before the whole wedding when i watched lots of fish swimming around in a pond with netting over the top so nothing could harm them, and a cat rying to get at them, and also i remember holding a big teddy called alex that i was allowed to keep for the day.
I had an afternoon nap. I woke up and found dribble all over my pillow. Yay!

Cecilia and Monica are currently watching "The Labyrinth" behind me. I decided to go online instead, I've seen it so many times ya know. It is a really great film. Has catchy songs, awesomely awesome puppets, a sweet story line and yeah. Here are some pictures of it that look exciting.

Say, how'dya upload photos anyway?

How Unfair is Life?!?

Yesterday I went to the Auckland String Company with mum to get my sisters violins looked at and also an old viola priced. They priced the viola at $50. what a joke!!! it was one that mums cousins found hiding away in their house. They thought it was a violin. That's not the main point.
The main point is that I had a bit of a chat with the main guy that works at the place, which means, I asked mum some questions about how the guy got his job, she told him I was interested, and then he told us some pretty interesting stuff in a quiet bored sounding voice. I felt a bit sorry for him. He trained for three years at some place in France or something, which of course cost a lot of money. He would've had to be good at playing violin as well, not just know everything about how to make a good instrument with a beautiful tone etc. He told us that his job took a lot of time and effort, didn't pay very well, and he wasn't recognised by people very much. I thought that was all surprising, apart from the taking a lot of time bit.
Lots of really clever hard-working people aren't recognised enough.

I just went to the dentist today for the first time in over a year. I've never had a filling before. I need 6 fillings and braces once my last baby tooth comes out. It's hardly even wiggly!
The dentist was scary, and it's only just now that he's said i need 6 fillings done that my teeth are hurting. The lady doing the check-up had to show me how to brush my teeth properly because apparently I haven't been brushing the back ones well enough:( How humiliating!!!
The up-side is that the government will be paying for my fillings seeing as I'm to have so many done. I suppose it won't be so bad, but I thought I was looking after my teeth well.

If I only had a heart:(

When a man's an empty kettle he should be on his mettle,
And yet I'm torn apart.
Just because I'm presumin' that I could be kind-a-human,
If I only had heart.
I'd be tender - I'd be gentle and awful sentimental
Regarding Love and Art.
I'd be friends with the sparrows ...
and the boys who shoots the arrows
If I only had a heart.
Picture me - a balcony. Above a voice sings low.
Wherefore art thou, Romeo? I hear a beat....
How sweet.
Just to register emotion, jealousy - devotion,
And really feel the part.
I could stay young and chipper
and I'd lock it with a zipper,
If I only had a heart.

Food Stuff

Gelatine is NOT the same as Jelly.

Gelatine is made from animal fatty stuff and Jelly is... something else. Either way, don't do what I did today which was pouring a pile of Gelatine into some boiling water to dissolve. Firstly, I should only have put in a few teaspoons of the stuff, and secondly, it's not sweet like jelly. It's smelly like a toilet and it looks bad too. I only did this because there was a picture of jelly on the front, so I'm not as stupid as I look... or maybe I am if I'm good looking, but I wouldn't know coz I don't look at myself much.

Today I made some choice scones. They were noice as! they were sposed to be cheese scones but we don't got enough cheese

I did some gardening with dad and monny which involed pulling out weeds and wheelbarrowing the stuff out the front to dump in a pile that's fairly well hidden.

This morning I was a little disappointed about not being able hang out with Flo, but it was also my fault coz I couldn't really be bothered organising it to tell the truth. There's always next time:) and it'll learn me to not leave sortin things out to the last minute.

my throat feels tickly funny and i got some teeth coming through that tickle as well.

blah.

what shall I say?

Well after taking absolutely ages to try and work out how to post a blog I found that the language was still set to Hindi, so I had to go back to change the language and then work out how to post a thing again. Stupid bloody computery things.

Yeah so I'm not really a computer geek, but I do spend quite a bit of time on the computer or by my phone I suppose, so I can understand why my parents think I am a computery person even though I'm not. Technology stuffs aren't really my thing though. I spend tonnes of time playing the piano. I've just learnt half of Scott Joplins "Maple Leaf Rag" by heart. Not a simplified version, the real thing. I've been listening to lots of George Gershwin and had "An American In Paris" In my head everytime I went swimming at Piha and got knocked over by the massively strong waves.

Last night I started reading "Poetry Girl" well it's called something like that. It's rather sad. Definately not a "feel-good" book. Basically about a girl who fails horribly at school so she has to stay in form one for two years and also she has trouble making friends and hangs out with the wrong kinda people... ya know? It really made me feel good reading part of it after I'd found out that I hadn't got into Chamber Orchestra after all. I really thought I had. That was sarcasm by the way, and I don't feel all that bad about it.

had a good time today going to a bushwalk and a lil beach thingy at the end and then going up to highbury to get yum milkshake things with Kety and Dylan. Very nice of her, had a good time. It's also nice and sunny.

Man what was the point in writing that? I'm being anti-social at the moment.

BYE!

Why I got a blog

Why did I get a blog? Well pretty much because I just did. I'm not expecting to write on it very often, but I will probably read other peoples blogs, so yeah! and that is what I am about to try and do right away. I do believe that having an account will also give me the advantage of being able to comment on other peoples blogs, so that's good too.
